When any information comes in for evaluation....how do I react?

12.05.2025

1. Professional context (e.g., work, project):

  • I pause and verify the facts.

  • I consider the source of the information.

  • I analyze whether it's relevant for the decision.

  • I compare it with available data.

  • I draw conclusions or make recommendations.

Example reaction: "First, I check the credibility of the information, and then I analyze it in the context of the project goals."

2. Personal or emotional context:

  • I take a deep breath and avoid reacting immediately.

  • I acknowledge how I feel.

  • I ask myself: Is this objective? Is it really about me?

  • I try to respond calmly, not impulsively.

Example reaction: "I reflect on why this information triggered me emotionally, and then I decide how to act."

3. Everyday communication:

  • I listen to what the other person is saying.

  • I ask follow-up questions.

  • I consider whether I have enough information to respond.
