When any information comes in for evaluation....how do I react?
12.05.2025
1. Professional context (e.g., work, project):
-
I pause and verify the facts.
-
I consider the source of the information.
-
I analyze whether it's relevant for the decision.
-
I compare it with available data.
-
I draw conclusions or make recommendations.
Example reaction: "First, I check the credibility of the information, and then I analyze it in the context of the project goals."
2. Personal or emotional context:
-
I take a deep breath and avoid reacting immediately.
-
I acknowledge how I feel.
-
I ask myself: Is this objective? Is it really about me?
-
I try to respond calmly, not impulsively.
Example reaction: "I reflect on why this information triggered me emotionally, and then I decide how to act."
3. Everyday communication:
-
I listen to what the other person is saying.
-
I ask follow-up questions.
-
I consider whether I have enough information to respond.
